100 Cards

Don’t forget to turn in your 100 Cards (your practice cards) each week! Dancers who turn in their completed cards 5 or more times get to perform in Big Dog (or a special soft shoe dance) at the Birthday Party show in June. There’s still time to earn your spot!

Heritage 19th Annual Birthday Party!

Heritage began holding classes in June of 1998. We celebrate this every year with a "Birthday Party" featuring dancing, music, cake, and fun!
This year's Birthday Party will be Tuesday, June 27 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Friendship Irish Dance Center, 1944 S. Quebec Street in Denver. We’re having our Birthday Party later than usual this year to make sure that all our graduating seniors can attend.
Tickets for spectators will be $5 (kids under 7 get in free). Spectators can also get tickets in exchange for make-up lessons if you buy them in advance (3 tickets per make-up lesson). Email us to get makeup tickets in advance, or you can buy tickets at the door.
ALL our dancers, no matter what age and level, are invited to dance at the Birthday Party!  If you'd like to perform, all you need is a Heritage costume and Irish dance shoes. Sign up online at
We will be practicing dances for the Birthday Party in class.
At the Birthday Party, we will also give out our Spirit Awards and Scholarships for the fall semester. Please help us by turning in nominations! Let us know who deserves a Spirit Award or Scholarship and what makes them special. You can drop a note in the box, email us, or text us.
Thanks! We look forward to dancing with everyone!

Krystal Thompson, Olivia Seiler, Michael Bogumill and Gregory West will be competing at the North American Irish Dance Championships in New Orleans July 4-8! At the Birthday Party show and June classes, we will have good luck cards to sign for these dancers. We will be posting updates about how everyone is doing on our Facebook page as well.

Colorado Irish Festival Feis

& Mile High City Feis

We will be running the Colorado Irish Festival Feis (also known as CUIS) and the Mile High City Feis again this year! These two competitions will each be run as a separate, one-day feis, giving everyone the chance to compete twice during the weekend.
The Colorado Irish Festival Feis will be Saturday, July 15 at ThunderRidge High School in Highlands Ranch. Mile High City Feis will be on Sunday, July 16 (also at ThunderRidge).
We encourage all our dancers to sign up for one or both of these competitions! If you’re interested in competing but have never competed before, email us and we’ll send you the instructions on how to register. If you would like to compete one day but not both, and if both days are equally good, we encourage you to sign up for the Mile High City Feis on Sunday (since Heritage gets to keep the proceeds from that day of competition).
Registration will open at next week.

Volunteers Needed!

Running a feis requires lots of parent and senior dancer volunteers, so plan ahead for helping out. We will be sending out an email about volunteering within the next couple weeks, and then you can sign up at
There will be many different jobs available, including some with no experience necessary. Thank you very much for helping us have a good event!

Heritage Yearbook

Krista Hwang, our resident photographer, is putting together a book of photos taken in the past 12 months. If you have any photos of Heritage classes or events that you’d like to share, we would love to have them! You can email the photos to, or you can also send the photos via Dropbox (contact Krista at the gmail address to find out how to send them via Dropbox).
If you are interested in purchasing one of these yearbooks, you can sign up for one at class, or email Krista and let her know how many you’d like and what size. There is a 5x7 paperback version and an 8x10 hardcover version.
