St. Patrick's Day Shows

March is just around the corner! We usually do about 40 shows during the month of March. All of our students, no matter what age and level, are welcome to participate!
If you would like to join us for shows during the month of March, you will need a Heritage costume. For girls, there are three different versions of the team costume.  We’ve described them (and how to get them) below. Girls also need gillies, flashpants, and poodle socks, which you can get from Irish Butterfly (or email or call us, and we can bring them to your class). Boys need a white, long-sleeved, button-down shirt, black slacks, and black dress socks, all of which you can buy at a department store. Boys also need jazz shoes, which you can buy through Irish Butterfly.
To sign up for St. Patrick’s Day shows or order Heritage items, go to and enter our email address, You will then see a list of all the shows that you can sign up for. Put your name down for any shows you’d like to perform in, and then you’re all set!
Shows are limited to 12 dancers each (except for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade), so be sure to sign up right away for any shows you’d like to be in. Check Sign Up Genius every week to see what new shows we have available.
Once you’ve signed up for a show, you’ll be emailed information (including directions, what to wear, and when to show up) a few weeks before the show date.
If you have questions, please let us know!

Hundred Cards

After every class, dancers get a Hundred Card, which tells them what to practice at home that week. Hundred cards help dancers learn steps, improve their form, and become more confident.
This semester, we are encouraging dancers to complete their Hundred Cards by offering an extra incentive: dancers who bring in their Hundred Cards the most number of times between now and March 1 will get to choose their groups for March 16 & 17 before everyone else.
So if you like performing at particular shows (like Exchange Tavern or Q’s Pub), be sure to do your practice card and bring it back every week!
If you need help understanding your Hundred Card or figuring out how best to practice, please let your teacher know—we are always happy to help!

Costumes for Girls

There are three different styles of Heritage costumes for girls. The biggest difference between them is price, so you should go with whichever costume fits your budget. You don’t need to be a certain level to get a certain costume. Here are descriptions and ordering instructions for each type of costume:
#1—Skirt and Blouse.  This is a green, pleated skirt and a white button-up blouse.  It costs about $20. To order this costume, go to, and search for the pleated skirt in green in your size, and the long-sleeved pointy collar blouse in white in your size. We also sometimes have used versions of this costume in the store. You will also need to buy green flashpants and white poodle socks (available at Irish Butterfly).
#2—Velvet Dress.  New! This is a green stretch velvet dress with attached flashpants and a gold glitterdot cape.  It costs $100. To order this costume, email us at
#3—Embroidered Team Dress.  This is a green velvet dress with celtic knotwork embroidery.  It costs $500 new, or $100-$300 used (we have some used versions of this costume in the store). To order this costume, email us at

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The Denver St. Patrick's Day Parade will be held on Saturday, March 11 downtown in the morning. All our dancers and families are invited to join us!
Heritage dancers will wear their Heritage costumes and black tennies. If you don’t have a Heritage costume, be sure to talk to your teacher as soon as possible. Don’t forget to buy black tennies if you don’t already have some.
Every Heritage dancer under the age of 18 needs to have a parent, family member, or other adult marching in the Parade with them (dancers ages 16-18 who will be driving themselves to the parade do not need an adult with them). Parents, siblings, and friends who would like to march with us need to wear a Heritage t-shirt or sweatshirt. If you need to order Heritage gear (t-shirts, hoodies, etc), email us at
Dancers and anyone marching with them should sign up online by clicking this link:
We’ll be sending out information around the first of March, when the Parade sends us our starting time and lineup number.

Makeup Lessons

Our Winter Semester will end on Saturday, April 1. All makeups from January, February, and March must be taken by that date, so plan ahead! You are welcome to take makeup lessons in advance if you know that you will be missing a class.
