Thank You for a Wonderful Season!
Thank you very much to everyone who participated in our St. Patrick’s Week performances! We had a wonderful season! Counting the Parade, we did FIFTY shows during the month of March, which was amazing, and we got a number of emails and phone calls after the shows letting us know how much the audiences enjoyed them.
Special thanks to:
*Phil, Krystal, Liza, Erin, the Hight Family, and Cassie and Norah for running shows
*All the parents who helped carry equipment, tape down boards, and clean up afterward
*Our MVPs for the season—Jeremy, Kelly, Mac, Ireland, Phil, the Carach family, and the West family, who each did more than a dozen shows during the month.
You can find pictures and videos up on our Facebook page, and if you have any pictures you’d like to share, you can post them to our page our email them to Thank you so much for dancing with us!

Spring Semester
The last class of the current Winter Semester is Saturday, April 1. We’ll then be going on to our Spring Semester! Here are the dates for spring:

April (April 2-29)
May (April 30-May 27)
June (May 28-June 24)

The schedule for the Spring Semester will be the same as the current schedule. We just ask that all dancers let us know that you’ll be attending class in the spring by putting your name down for the classes you’ll be coming to on our Sign Up Genius page:

There will be no registration fee for returning dancers who sign up for Spring by Saturday, April 1, so all you need to do is put your name down. : )

If you won’t be attending all three months of the semester (for instance, if you’ll be skipping June), please let us know in the Comments section of the sign up. That helps us plan our classes. Thanks!

Community Service Project
We are going to be doing a service project on April 1, 2017 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at  the Friendship Center. The idea is to have a facilitated community discussion about homelessness, and provide dancers with an opportunity to get volunteer hours for school and help out their community. Missy Mish (Norah and Mimi’s Mom) works with homeless vets, and she is going to lead us in a brief discussion about homelessness in Denver. Then we are going to put together some emergency care kits for people who are homeless that families can take with them and keep in their cars to give to people who might be flying a sign at an intersection or in a park. To do this we will need people to donate items for our emergency care kits. Missy will bring the Ziploc baggies for the kits.
Ideas of items to bring to assembly as a group into emergency care kits:
·         Easy-to-eat food items – such as chewy granola bars, to-go packs of tuna, beef jerky, fruit snacks, to-go peanut butter and crackers, etc
·         small bottles of water or juice boxes
·         small bottles of hand sanitizer
·         band aids
·         tooth brushes
·         Small (travel size) bottles of lotion, shampoo/conditioner, or toothpaste.  PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY MOUTHWASH
·         RTD bus tickets
·         Small packets of Ibuprofen or Tylenol (i.e. the paper ones that you tear open)
·          Small packets of wet wipes
·          Packets of hand warmers
·         Travel size sewing kits
·         Socks
·         Small winter gloves –one-size-fits-all gloves
If you’d like to participate in this project, you can sign up online:
You’ll let us know on the sign up page what kind of item you can bring for the group. Plan on bringing enough so that each person participating can have at least 3.
Thank you for joining us!
Hundred Cards
To encourage dancers to turn in their practice cards for the Spring Semester, we are going to require dancers to have at least 10 practice card stars from April and May if they want to do Big Dog at the Birthday Party show (date TBD next week). We’ll also have a special soft shoe number for Basics and Beginner 1 dancers who have 10 or more practice card stars.
So, if you want to dance Big Dog at the show, turn in your Hundred Cards! Not only will you get to do a fun number, but it will improve your dancing and make your teacher very happy. : )
