About Heritage Irish Stepdancers

Sisters Ariel and Alexa Bennett began Irish dancing in Texas in 1983 and competed for many years at the national and international level. In 1998, they founded Heritage Irish Stepdancers in order to share their love of Irish dance with others. They are joined by Erin Rider, who began dancing in 1976 and taught with the McGing School in Ohio for many years; and several invaluable assistant teachers who help us make sure each student gets personal attention.

Since our teaching staff comes from a variety of backgrounds, we understand the different needs of adult and child dancers and strive to provide the best instruction possible for dancers of all ages. Our school emphasizes small class size, individual attention, and achieving personal goals. For families, we offer discounts if more than one family member attends classes. For students interested in dancing in shows, we perform more than fifty times throughout the year, at venues ranging from schools and nursing homes to our two annual all-school events. For students interested in competing, we attend six local competitions every year and offer the opportunity to compete in out-of-state events.   However, shows and competitions are not required, since we know that some students just like to dance for fun. We want every student to have a great experience.
